About Us

Who we are, why we exist, what we are called to do, and where we came from.

Who we are

We believe God so loved the world that He sent His Son to save us. We have put our hope in him. We are followers of Jesus that are attempting to align our heart with His. We are Ambassadors of Christ, who are simply trying to love people. (John 3:16, John 14:6, 2 Corinthians 5:20, John 13:34-35)

Why we exist

Jesus made it clear that He was here to seek and save the lost. At Home Church, we exist so the next generation and those with no affiliation will come to know Jesus. As a family of God, we want to align our heart with the Father and welcome the lost Home. (Luke 15, Luke 19:10)

What we are called to do

We believe Jesus’ last command should be our greatest concern. We are on a mission to make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father (who so loved us), the Son (who died for us) and the Holy Spirit (that lives in us). Teaching them to obey everything that Jesus commanded of us. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Where we came from

Home Church was originally pioneered by Pastor Scott Sims. In 1999, Scott launched a second location of Salisbury Church which was originally established in Hutton, IL. In the spring of 2018 it was announced that the two churches that shared the same name would become independent. On July 1 of 2018, Whit stepped into the Lead Pastor position and in the fall of 2018 the former Charleston Campus of Salisbury Church was renamed “Home Church.” In the limited history of Home Church our heart has been to connect the next generation and those with no church affiliation to Christ. At Home, we believe everyone needs to be needed, known & welcomed. No matter the mess one has become or the mistakes one has made, the door of our house is always open.
