At Home Kids our vision and mission is to create a fun, encouraging, and inclusive environment for all children to come and feel valued, loved and accepted as they learn about the love Christ has for them through the message of the Gospel.
First, find the area marked for first-time families. There we will meet your family, check your child into our system, and then one of our volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate room.
Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):
-Parent/guardian name(s)
-Child's name
-Child's birthdate
-Home address
-Phone number
-Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children
Security and safety are important to us here at Home Church. All volunteers go through formal background check screenings and reference checks.
We also have a children's check in system to help make drop off and pick up a secure process. Here's how it works:
Before Service: You can check-in your child at any available kiosk. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold on to the matching tag.
After Service: After the service is complete, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.
During our Sunday morning time with your children, we utilize the Orange curriculum to engage your kids in the message and hope of Jesus! A prime focus of this curriculum is supporting and connecting with parents while showing kids who Christ is – providing more of a holistic, family centered approach to ministry.
As we experience the Orange programming and vision together, please be aware of the following resources available to support and partner with you!
This Orange app focuses on what we are learning about with your kids on Sunday mornings! Parents receive prompts for videos, activities, discussion questions and more that help them guide their child into a deeper faith. The Parent Cue App is available in the Apple App Store or Android Market.
Regan Osborne moved to Charleston to attend EIU and began serving in Home Kids as a small group leader in 2021. In 2023 she came on staff full time after interning for a period of time.
“I love being able to pour into this next generation and watch their confidence in Christ grow through all that He is doing! It’s been such a blessing to be part of the mission of showing these kids that Jesus loves them, and we do too!”
