Shelby and Nate Herman currently serve with Youth with a Mission in Tauranga, New Zealand. They work and help run the Discipleship Training Schools, walking closely alongside the students and staff of those schools. When they aren't doing that, they are working on the medical ship, the YWAM Kona. They aim to serve the isolated islands bringing them hope and healthcare through dentistry.

We want to take a moment to pause and look back on God’s faithfulness, promises, and the ways He’s faithfully led us every step of the year. 

At the end of year together as a team at our YWAM base we write up all the things that God has done this year. We want to see the big picture of what God was doing this year through us and how incredibly faithful he always is. Every statistic represents a person and the specific way that God met them where they were at. 

So with out further ado would you celebrate and worship our Lord with us while you read the outcomes of 2023:

126 students from 20+ countries were trained and sent out

500+ hours of cooperate prayer and worship

27 nations reached and ministered to

150+ salvations 

13 weeks of medical and dental care provided 

3891 patients seen and treated 

1473 eye exams or glasses given 

100+ bibles given away 

1,011 teeth restored 

1,675 teeth pulled 

1,757 fluoride applications 

225 teeth cleanings  

4,487 people received oral health education 

150+ volunteers 

$927,000 raised for the ship 

Over $2,000,000 worth of dental services given in New Zealand and Fiji.

Together Nate and I have taken on more leadership. 

Added 6 new monthly supporters to our team 

Been on 7 airplanes

Nate has been seasick 11 times 🤪

And we celebrated 1 year of marriage!

Jesus is so worthy. Jesus is so good. Jesus is so kind. Jesus is so faithful. 

We couldn’t have done this year without you. Thank you. For every dollar given, every prayer prayed, every note of encouragement. Thank you. Each life that has been changed this year is because of your yes. And we are so grateful. 

 We are so expectant for all that 2024 holds. All the things Jesus will do and the ways He will move. We can’t wait to do it together with you!
